Chief Electoral Officer

David Neil Gray resides in Swan River, Manitoba and was appointed Chief Electoral Officer in 2016.  He has managed all National elections and by-elections since that time.

Mr. Gray is a lawyer and received his call to the Bar in 1981. He was the Executive Director of the Elbert Chartrand Friendship Centre. After conducting several reviews for the MMF he was hired in 1989 as General Counsel continuing in that role until 1993 when he returned to private practice. He later became the Supervising Crown Attorney for Northern Manitoba. He has been counsel for and provided advice to various entities within the MMF since 1981.

His office has a limited number of full-time staff. Elections and other issues assigned to his office often require hundreds of casual employees. A register of open positions is on the website.
